

Covid-19 Health & Wellness Policy
The health and safety of our Lehrman community is paramount.

If your child tests positive for Covid:
- Grades PK-5- He/she will remain home for 5 days. On day 6, if all symptoms have subsided for more than 24 hours, the child can take a rapid or PCR test and if negative can return to school.
He/she will be required to wear a high-quality mask at all times during school on days 6-10. If your child cannot wear a mask they will need to stay home or the school nurse will call you to pick them up. - If still positive the child will need to remain home until they are Covid negative or may return to school on day 11.
- Grades TT-N- He/she will remain home for 10 days and can return to school on day 11 if all symptoms have subsided for more than 24 hours.
- If a student presents sick symptoms while at school, they may be required to take a rapid or PCR test before returning to class.
- If negative, the school nurse will determine if the child can remain in school or if he/she needs to go home.
- If positive, the child will need to be picked up immediately and remain home for 5 days. On day 6, if all symptoms have subsided for more than 24 hours, the child can take a rapid or PCR test.
- If negative the child can return to school.
- If positive the child will remain home until they are Covid negative or may return to school on day 11.
- If a student presents sick symptoms while home please contact the school nurse for next steps which may include taking a rapid or PCR test.
- If someone in your household tests positive for Covid please immediately notify the school nurse.
- If your PK-Grade 5 child has no sick symptoms they will enter test-to-stay and will be required to submit rapid or PCR tests on specific dates given to you by the school nurse. He/she may continue to attend school wearing a high-quality mask at all times during school while in test-to-stay. If your child cannot wear a mask they will need to stay home or the school nurse will call you to pick them up.
- If your child is in TT-Nursery they will be required to stay home through day 5 and test to return to school. If negative and asymptomatic they may return to school on day 6.
- If your child has any sick symptoms they should stay home and please contact the school nurse for next steps.
- Lehrman remains a mask optional school. All programming will be mask optional and if you want your child to wear a mask while at school (or during specific programs) you need to send an email to either Raquel Heisler (rheisler@lehrmanschool.org) or Erica Kalish (ekalish@lehrmanschool.org).
- All classes will be taught to in-school students only. If your K-5 child is absent due to Covid-19 or any other illness their teachers will pack up work for you to pick up from the Welcome Center.
